It has been more than 24 hours since the polls closed and counting started in the 2020 General Election.
Though some provisional and certified results are in, it is still considered too early to call the election.
However, both the NDC and NPP are claiming victory and claiming to have majority in parliament.
The presidential candidate for the NDC John Mahama has taken to Twitter to claim that the NDC has secured majority of the seats in parliament.
This should mean that they have secured at least 138 parliamentary seats – however, officials EC results are have not been released to confirm this.
In the same tweet, he thanked Ghanaians for “voting for change.”
The EC has extended its own deadline for declaring the 2020 presidential results.
