A lot of Questions have been raised by first-time voters on the collation and Announcement of Election Results. With the media houses making sure to provide Provisional results, there has been some confusion as to whether the results are correct and whether they will tally with that of the Electoral Commission.
The Electoral Commission has issued an explainer on how the Collation Process And Announcement Of Election Results should be done.
Below are the Three Steps;
1.The returning Officer will Collate the results from all Polling Stations in your Constituency at the Constituency Collation Centre.
2. The collation will be done in the presence of the candidates and/or their agents.
3. Thereafter, the Returning Officer will publicly announce the results and post a copy at a place that can be easily viewed at the centre.
