Yesterday, President Nana Akufo-Addo surprised skeptics who assumed that the president’s address to the nation hours before election day was a last ditch campaigning effort. Instead, the president encouraged Ghanaians to exercise their constitutional right to vote instead of opting to sit out the 2020 elections.
Today, on election day, the president is hammering on the same point, this time with his actions. The president, his wife and their children have cast their votes, and he encourages all legible voters to do same.
If you’re a first time voter and you’re feeling reluctant, your president encourages you to vote. It is a simple process further made easier with more polling stations this year.
