Ghanaians React To Awutu Senya East Shooting Incident

A shooting incident that reportedly occurred near the Steps to Christ polling station in Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East constituency has got some Ghanaians talking on social media.

Reports indicate that two persons, who are members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have sustained gunshot wounds.

The victims were reportedly shot by gunmen in a black SUV.

The Ghana Police Service has, however, indicated that its officers are on the chase for occupants of the black SUV.

“At Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Constituency, however, Police is on chase for occupants of a black 4×4 SUV who reportedly shot occupants of a silver-coloured Kia private salon car with registration No GW 2375-20…” the Police Service stated.

“The occupants who got injured were taken to the hospital and are responding to treatment. Police is investigating any allegation of impropriety so far received,” the Police added.

Interestingly, this same centre witnessed by an incidence of violence during the voter registration exercise when the incumbent MP, Mavis Hawa Koomson, fired a gun at the centre after a skirmish between NDC and NPP supporters in the area.
