Today is the eve of the 2020 elections and coincidentally, it is a Sunday as well.

Taking advantage of that fact, President Akufo-Addo sent out a prayer request.

A statement from the Ministry of Information said the President has asked Christians to dedicate their church service today to pray for a peaceful election.

“The request is in line with the President’s belief that we are of the Lord’s, and notwithstanding the fact that all the arrangement necessary for peaceful polls have been made, the intervention of the Almighty is still absolutely crucial,” the statement added.

However, Ghanaians on Twitter had a mixed reaction to the president’s request.

While some criticized the president, others also believed he made a good call.

Remember that peaceful elections is a shared responsibility.
