GFA Prez Kurt Okraku Files To Contest For CAF Executive Committee Position

Kurt E.S. Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA)

Kurt Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has reportedly filed to contest for a position in the CAF Executive Committee.

According to Citi Sports, Mr Okraku submitted his nomination form before the 12th November 2020 deadline, ahead of the CAF General Elective Assembly on March 12, 2021.

The report also indicates that the GFA President has not made a firm decision to contest and could still back out.

There are 15 Executive Committee slots available to be filled at the next CAF elections next year.

Kurt Okraku is expected to face competition from Niger’s FA President, Hamidou Djibrilla – who replaced former Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi as both WAFU Zone B President and a CAF Executive Committee Member.

Mr Okraku, in January 2020, was appointed by CAF to serve as a member of the Organisation Committee of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
