After hearing Idahossa for the first time on his first single Ocean, you’d expect nothing less than the absolute best when it comes to his music.
Fortunately, he did not disappoint on his new song, Anointing.
The song released on Friday, is reflective of his unique music style — reggae fusion: a common blend of reggae and afrobeats quite popular in Eastern and Western Africa.
On Anointing, with the help of Esi Chelle and CK Narh’s additional vocals, Idahossa sings about his lover weaving through themes of love and sex on the Okukuseku produced beat and interpolating the 2011 hit single, “I’m Into You” by Jennifer Lopez and Lil Wayne.
To Idahossa, music should be able to stir up the emotions of people and leave a lasting impression on the listener regardless of the theme the song is built around and for him, his reggae fusion songs are a way of exploring his sexual desires and fantasies.
As young sexually active people, our thirst for love and will to express romance while maintaining a decent sensual approach will always be in abundance and finding a balance between such romance and intimacy is the core inspiration for this “Anointing” song composed by Idahossa and mixed by Obrimpong.
