Argentine football legend, Diego Maradona has been buried in a private ceremony in Argentina’s capital, Buenos Aires. He died at age 60 on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, after suffering a heart attack.
Prior to the burial, his body was laid at Casa Rosada – Argentina’s presidential mansion – during three days of national mourning in the country.
Maradona’s coffin was draped with Argentina’s national flag and football shirt, which bared his trademark number 10 on the back.

Huge crowds visited the venue to pay their respects, with many weeping, blowing kisses and praying as they filed past his coffin.
However, the final burial ceremony was reserved for relatives and close friends.
Maradona was to be buried at the Jardines de Bella Vista cemetery on the outskirts of the city, which is reportedly where his parents were laid to rest.
