Bashir Hayford

Legon Cities FC have appointed former Kumasi Asante Kotoko Coach, Bashir Hayford, as their new head coach.

Bashir Hayford takes over from Bosnian, Goran Barjaktarevic, who was sacked on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, following a poor start to the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

According to the club, the 64-year-old will be in charge of coaching until the end of the 2020/21 season.

Bashir Hayford led Asante Kotoko to a league title in 2008 before leading Ashantigold to a first league title in 19 years in 2015.

He has also coach other Ghana Premier League clubs including Medeama, Ebusua Dwarfs and Kpando Hearts of Lions.

Hayford has also managed the Black Starlets and Black Queens.

He was last in charge of the Somalia National Football team from March 2019 to February 2020, and cited civil unrest in the country as the reason he quit his job.
