On December 7 when you go to the polling station to vote in the Presidential and Parliamentary general election, one of the first Electoral Commission officials you will meet is the Name Reference List Officer.
As the title suggest, he or she is the person who will check your voter ID card and cross check your details to make sure that your name is the voter register provided for that polling station.
This official will also ensure that you have not voted at any other polling station on December as double voting is a crime.
Do remember that these officials are not out there to get you or deny your right to vote.
Whenever you are experiencing any challenge with any other EC agent at the polling station, don’t cause a scene, the Presiding Officer is the person you need to report it to so that he or she can resolve the problem for you.
