A blackhead is a plug of sebum in a hair follicle, darkened by oxidation. Blackheads look like tiny, raised bumps on the surface of the skin, mostly black in colour and are usually found around the nose and chin area. Here are some effective ways to get rid of them.
You can do a sugar and honey scrub right from your kitchen to do the exfoliation work for you or get chemical exfoliants if you don’t trust the physical ones. Exfoliation helps remove excessive amounts of dead skin cells that can lead to clogged pores and this process also leads to gently removing existing blackheads.
2. Keep your face clean
Every time you step out, your skin attracts dirt. If you don’t clean it properly before sleeping, the dirt will clog up your pores and eventually result in blackheads. Also, if you don’t clean your makeup thoroughly before you sleep, you’ll be clogging your pores which will result in the blackhead.
3. Use activated charcoal plus clay
Mix 1 part clay, half part activated charcoal and a little water and mix it to form a paste free of lumps. Apply the mask on your face and leave it on till it’s dried completely and then wash off with cool water. Do this once a week and your pores will be clean. Say bye bye to your blackheads.
4. Lemon Juice
Lemon juice removes dead skin cells and because it is a natural astringent, it also gets rid of blackheads. Use cotton to apply fresh lemon juice to your face before sleeping at night for about a week and you’ll see positive results. If you have dry skin, add oils which serve as a moisturizer.
5. Use clean laundry
Your pillowcases especially should be changed as often as possible. Oils and dirt are rubbed onto the pillowcase as you sleep and the dirtier they are, the more your pores get clogged when you sleep on them, eventually leading to the blackheads you want to avoid.
I think these points are doable and are very affordable. Try them and let us know what you think.
