There Will Be No One Week Celebration For JJ Rawlings

Last Thursday, November 12 former President Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings passed away after he was hospitalised after a short illness.

The former President passed away at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital at 10:10 am.

The office of the late former President has announced that the family will not be holding a one-week remembrance ceremony.

“All flyers and other communication announcing such a ceremony are false and should be ignored,” the Office of the late JJ Rawlings said in a statement.

“The office of former President Jerry John Rawlings informs the general public that all who wish to call on the family of the late former President will be received by pre-arranged appointments,” the statement indicated.

Due to Covid-19 protocols, all groups and institutions who obtain appointments for visits at the former President’s office will not be allowed in without nose masks.
