GIDOCHI, a Ghanaian musician signed to Supernova records, is one of the few unique vocalists and outstanding young artists amongst his peers. After weeks of building anticipation for his new project on social media, the talented singer, winner of the Nescafe One song Competition has gone ahead to release his debut E.P titled “MIXED FEELINGS.”
Mixed Feelings is a 7 track project, interestingly with only a single feature from Afrobeat/Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy. The EP boasts of production credits from some of the big names in the music industry like UglyOnit, Mintbeatz, KidMvgic, Beatboy Soda, ItzCjMadeIt, Sammy Qube and guest production from Grammy-nominated producer, Kel P with backing vocals from Suzzblaqq, Harmaboy and GoldKay.
Gidochi, in an interview with Nana Kwadwo Addo on ‘3FM’, talked about his decision to name the project “MIXED FEELINGS.” He explained that as humans we all go through different emotions; sometimes we share precious moments of insight with our lovers or partners that are forever etched in our memories. Other times we recall hurtful memories from a brawl or dispute with our lovers that put us through a despondent mood and…as a creative person, who has also experienced these emotions, saw the need to translate them into songs.
The first song on the E.P, ‘Honor’ perfectly ushers listeners into the project with its intro and catchy lines. Gidochi’s composition, as well as his delivery on this project obviously creates a mood for listeners to enjoy all the shades and sensations of love, making you feel alive.
