Besiktas midfielder, Bernard Mensah has announced that he has taken a break from the national team “until further notice.”
He made this announcement on Twitter on November 8, 2020.
According to the 26-year-old, he wants to concentrate on his career for now.
“I have decided to take a break from the national team until further notice… I want to concentrate on my career for now… thanks to all Ghanaians for their support,” Mensah stated.
Mensah, who has capped five times for the national team, was part of the Black Stars squad that faced Mali and Qatar in international friendly matches in October.
However, he did not receive a call up for the double-header in the African Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Sudan on November 12 and 17.
Mensah was also one of the seven Black Stars players who were reported to have contracted COVID-19 after the international friendlies in October.
