Afro Nation Cancels This Year’s December Festival In Ghana

Last year, after a very successful Year of Return campaign by the government, Afro Nation held a festival in Accra, Ghana.

It was one of the major events that crowned the year of Ghanaians welcoming black people from all over the world.

After the festival, the government signed a 5-year deal with Afro Nation to hold annual festivals during December.

With just weeks to December, many were wondering whether this year’s Afro Nation Festival will be held.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the organizers of Afro Nation Festival have decided to cancel this year’s festival.

In a statement, the Afro Nation team said “we’ve been in deep talks with the authorities and our partners in Ghana and as you can imagine – due to the effects of COVID-19 around the globe, we unfortunately can’t go ahead with out Afro Nation Ghana festival in 2020.”

To soften the bad news they delivered to fans of Afro Nation, the team also promised that they are already planning to host the event next year.

“We already have some unique and exciting plans in place to return to the motherland next year,” the team said.

“It’s going to be special,” Afro Nation added.

Afro Nation is becoming a regular fixture of Christmas celebrations in Ghana and this year’s pandemic dealt a huge blow to the festival.
