Coconut water has some hydrating properties which make it ideal for treating thirsty curls. This solution is also anti-fungal, which helps to promote a healthy scalp.
Last week we explained WHY you should add Coconut water to your hair regimen. If you missed out on that article, click here. Today we are going to show you HOW you can add it to your regimen.
1. You can use it before you shampoo
Get your fresh coconut water and massage it into your scalp. After the scalp, focus on the strands. Cover your hair with a shower cap/ hair steamer and leave it for about 20 minutes. Wash with sulfate free shampoo and conditioner.
2. Can be used as leave-in conditioner
– This should be done with pure coconut water otherwise your hair will be left in a sticky mess. Put your coconut water into your spray bottle and use it to hydrate your strands every time.
– You can also mix coconut water, aloe Vera and any oil of your choice into your spray bottle
Wash your hair with sulfate free shampoo and condition it as you normally would. Dry your hair and spray it into your strands. This is an extremely hydrating leave-in spray that will make your hair more calm and manageable. Keep the rest of your mixture in the fridge so it doesn’t go bad.
– Coconut Water and honey
Mix the 2 together and apply to your scalp and your strands. Cover your hair with your shower cap to retain some heat for about 20-30 minutes and then wash off with your sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. Honey helps seal moisture to your hair, keeping it conditioned. This helps keep your hair healthy and free from damage.
3. Can be used as an after-wash rinse
After washing your hair with your shampoo and conditioner, you can also just massage the coconut water into your scalp and your strands.
