Edem Cancels EdemFest Due To Coronavirus


Since 2017, Edem has given fans in the Volta Region a time of their lives bringing the best of Artistes to the Region. However this year, Edem has announced this year due to the Coronavirus, EdemFest will not happen.

In a statement posted on Twitter stated, “For some years now, the month of November has witnessed us celebrate Edemfest with all sorts of amazing performances This November 2020 was expected to witness another epic celebration.

7th November 2020 would have been the date for this year’s celebration. However, due to some circumstances, particularly the Covid-19 pandemic and the current restrictions still in place VRMG will not be able to host the festival.

We as in Edem and his Management are really sorry about this development and feel a need to apologise to everyone for this cancellation, though we have no other choice.

As nations across the globe battle with the new strain of Corona Virus, as countries are going into new phases of lockdown amid new cases, we are indeed not in our normal times to be able to do the things we normally would have loved.”

Edem in the statement however urged Ghanaians to adhere to all protocols outlined by the Government. The statement read, “Though Ghana has been hit relatively lower than other nations, we call on all to strictly adhere to the safety protocols as outlined by the Government. Wear clean masks, Observe social distancing, Wash hands with soap and water. Let us do all we can in our own small ways to end this pandemic so we can all return to normal, and to be able to celebrate Edemfest 2021.
