Ariana Grande continues her reign of the Billboard charts after her latest single, Positions, shot straight to the top of the Hot 100. This means the Thank U, Next hitmaker has now had five singles debuted at the top of the Hot 100 charts.
The 27-year-old singer already held the record with four songs; solo tracks Thank U, Next and 7 Rings’ as well as a pair of collaborations, Stuck With U with Justin Bieber and Rain on Me with Lady Gaga. So now her catchy tune Positions has just put a little extra distance between Ari and her competitors.
Fans will also be thrilled to know that wasn’t the only achievement the singer accomplished because the track is now her third single to debut at number one this year. In fact, Ariana has now become the first artist in Hot 100 history to score three number one debuts in the same year.
If that all wasn’t enough to celebrate, this number one is now the 17th top 10 hit under Ms. Grande’s belt. Sadly, fans will have to wait a while before they can enjoy Ariana’s singing track from her new album, also titled Positions, live.
The Way singer also explained that she has no plans to tour the album until 2022 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Ariana said: ‘I don’t think people are going to be touring until 2022. I don’t see it as a possibility. I wouldn’t feel safe, and I don’t want to put my fans in danger.”
