Big Brother Naija ex-housemates: Gideon Okeke, Erica Nlewedim, Ebuka Obi Uchendu

Big Brother Naija is arguably one of the biggest reality shows in Africa. It has a huge following and the housemates become stars and influencers after the show.

Season five of the reality show was won by Laycon.

Over the years, there have been housemates who became very popular on the show. Most of these housemates leveraged on the popularity that they got on the show to take up new and better opportunities.

We have put together a list of the most popular Big Brother Naija housemates and what they are doing now.

Ebuka Obi Uchendu

Ebuka Obi Uchendu was one of the 14 housemates in the first season of Big Brother Nigeria in 2006.

Ebuka did not win the reality show, as he was the seventh housemate to be evicted in that season which was won by Katung Aduwak.

Ebuka was one of the fans’ favourites prior to his eviction. His popularity from the show benefited him a lot as he bagged quite a number of sponsorship deals. He also got the opportunity to host some popular television shows.

When Big Brother Naija returned for a second season in 2017 after 11 years, Ebuka was selected by the organisers as the host of the show. He went on to host the next 3 seasons of the show.

Gideon Okeke

Gideon Okeke was also one of the 14 housemates in the first season of Big Brother Nigeria in 2006.

Like Ebuka, Gideon was also one of the fans’ favourites. Interestingly, he was the sixth housemate to be evicted.

After participating in the reality show, Gideon went into acting.

He joined the cast of popular M-NET series Tinsel. Gideon also starred in TV series including Jacobs Cross and Poisoned Bait.

Gideon also starred in movies including Relentless (2006), A Place in the Stars (2014), …When Love Happens (2014), 93 Days (2016), Gbomo Gbomo Express (2016).

He also played Fela Kuti in Fela.. Arrest The Music, a musical that celebrates the talent of the Nigerian Afrobeat legend.

Bisola Aiyeola

Bisola Aiyeola was the first runner up in season two of BBNaija (See Gobbe). Season 2 of BBNaija was won by Michael Efe Ejeba.

After participating in Big Brother Naija season 2, Bisola went into acting.

She has starred in Picture Perfect (2016), Ovy’s Voice (2017), Gold Statue (2019), The Bling Lagosians (2019), The Bling Lagosians (2019), Sugar Rush (2019 film), The Becoming Of Obim, This Lady Called Life, Two Grannies And A Baby, PayDay and Skinny Girl in Transit

Bisola won the AMVCA Trailblazer Award at the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

TBoss (Tokunbor Idowu)

TBoss was on of the fans’ favourites in Big Brother Naija season 2. She came third behind Bisola Aiyeola and Michael Efe Ejeba.

Like Bisola Aiyeola, TBoss also went into acting after the reality show ended. She also bagged some endorsement deals.

Cee-C (Cynthia Nwadiora)

Cee-C had a huge fanbase during her time in the Big Brother House. She came second in the third season of Big Brother Naija (Double Wahala) which was won by Miracle Igbokwe.

She was also one of the most searched personalities on Google during her time on the reality show.

Cee-C is currently a brand influencer and the CEO of Cegar Clothing Brand and Cegar Logistics.

Teddy A (Temidayo Adenibuyan)

Aside from Cee-C, Teddy A was another housemate in Big Brother Naija season 3 who was very popular.

He was evicted after 63 days in the house. Teddy A was one of the lucky Big Brother Naija participants who found love in the house. He got married to Bambam, who was also a popular housemate, in 2019 in Dubai.

Teddy A also went into acting after the reality show ended.

Tobi Bakre

Tobi is another Big Brother Naija season three housemate who generated a lot of buzz while in the house.

He came third in the Double Wahala edition of the show.

Before participating in the reality show, Tobi was an investment banker. However, he switched to acting and modelling after the show.

Symply Tacha

Symply Tacha was a very popular housemate in season four of Big Brother Naija (Pepper Dem).

Tacha was ejected from the house after getting into a fight with Mercy Eke, who later won the show.

She got some ambassadorial deals after the show.

Erica Nlewedim

Erica was a housemate in season 5 of Big Brother Naija (Lockdown), which was won by Laycon.

She was the favourite of many followers of the reality show.

Erica’s popularity on the show was so huge that she had her own fanbase known as the Elites, who actively campaigned for votes for her on social media.

A lot of the Elites were sad after Erica was ejected from the Big Brother House for disregarding the rules and receiving her third strike.

A GoFundMe page was created by the Elites to support Erica build her career after she was ejected.

Dorathy Bachor

Dorathy participated in Big Brother Naija season 5 (Lockdown) and she was one of the popular hosuemates.

She was the first runner up of the show, which was won by Laycon.

Like most of the ex-housemates, Dorathy got some ambassadorial deals after the show ended.
