The captial of anything is the center that directs the flow of activities to the peripheries.

As the host city of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Accra has become the commercial capital for the whole of the African continent.

With Accra as the commercial capital for Africa, it is expected that it would open up new market access opportunities under preferential terms for Ghanaian producers particularly for small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs).

The city of Accra was unveiled as the Commercial capital of Africa at the 4th Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference.

The 4th Ghana International Conference on Trade & Finance is being held to expose and educate participants in Ghana and Africa on how to own a piece of the over $1.3 trillion African continental trade deal.

The AfCFTA, which is headquartered in Accra, is also addressing the challenge of small fragmented markets in Africa by creating a single continental market which will lead to economies of scale.
