6 Days After The Lekki Shooting, Lagos Starts End SARS Shooting Investigation

These Pictures Have Defined The #EndSars Protest In Nigeria

Last Tuesday was a black day for most Nigerians.

While young Nigerians were protesting at the Lekki tollgate in Lagos, military officers reportedly shot at them.

The Nigerian army later denied that their officers were responsible for the attack on the peaceful unarmed protesters.

Today, though, the Lagos State Information and Strategy Commissioner has told the BBC that the judicial panel investigating police abuses and extrajudicial killings has already begun work this morning.

Gbenga Omotoso said the panel, set up by the Federal Executive Council, is already on location in Lekki area after being inaugurated.

The controversial CCTV footage will reportedly be looked into by the investigators. This is controversial because, just before the Tuesday attack, plain-clothed men were seen removing CCTV cameras from the tollgate.

Shortly after that, there was a blackout just before the military reportedly started their assault on the civilians.
