Former American President, Bill Clinton is supporting the call for police reform in Nigeria.

Young Nigerians have been protesting for weeks now as they call for an end to police brutality and unnecessary profiling of young people by police officers.

The End SARS protests turned bloody on October 20, when unarmed peaceful protesters were shot at at the Lekki toll gate by Nigerian military officers, leaving many dead.

Since the brutal attack by the army, a number of world leaders have shared their concern about what is happening in Nigeria.

In a tweet, the former American president said “I am deeply concerned over reports of violence in Lagos.”

He called on the Nigerian government to engage in peaceful dialogue with the protesters and ensure that there were police reform and an end to corruption.

His tweet came after his wife and former Secretary of State of the USA, Hillary Clinton also shared her own concerns.

She was more upfront as she named Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Army to stop killing young protesters.
