Nigerians in Ghana and sympathizers trooped to the Nigeria High Commission in Accra to protest adding pressure to what has already been established online.
With the ongoing protest in Nigeria, the Nigerian government have done nothing to heed the cry of Nigerians.
The protest held in Accra was to plead with the President Akufo-Addo to use his authority as the ECOWAS chairman to bring to order the unrest in Nigeria.
This follows several reports of brutalities from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a Nigerian Police Force unit created to deal with crimes associated with robbery, kidnapping, and extrajudicial killings.
Nigerians took to the streets to protest with a hashtag #EndSARs following the ongoing brutalities.
On Tuesday, 20th October, 2020, during a peaceful protest, Nigerians at the Toll gate in Lekki were shot by Nigerian Military. This incident has since been denied by the Lagos Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu this morning in a televised broadcast.
According to him, two critically wounded victims had been operated on and were in stable condition while others with “mild to moderate” cases are still receiving treatments at various hospitals in the area.
According to some Tweets, the Protesters in Accra met with the Ghana Police where they were peacefully dispersed because they did not present any permit for the protest.
Below are some videos of the Protest.
