Ghanaians Mount Pressure On Prez. Akufo-Addo To Speaking On The Massacre Going On In Nigeria

After yesterday’s incident which saw several deaths of some Nigerians at the Lekki Toll Gate, Ghanaians have taken to Twitter to exert more pressure on the President Of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo who also doubles as the ECOWAS chairman.

On Tuesday, 20th October, 2020, during a peaceful protest, Nigerians at the Toll gate in Lekki were shot by Nigerian Military. This incident has since been denied by the Lagos Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu this morning in a televised broadcast.

According to him, two critically wounded victims had been operated on and were in stable condition while others with “mild to moderate” cases are still receiving treatments at various hospitals in the area.

All these incidents heighten the pressure on the Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari who is yet to assure Nigerians on an effective plan to ban SARS and restore peace.

Some Tweets compared how readily African leaders were to speak on the killing of George Floyd but are silent on what’s going on in Nigeria.
