Main Suspect In The Murder Of Legon Lecturer Prof. Benneh Has Died While In Police Custody

The new development in the investigation into the murder of a law lecturer at the University of Ghana Prof Yaw Benneh will surely raise some eye brows.

The Ghana Police Service has announced that the main suspect in the murder of the lecturer has died while in their custody.

James Nana Womba, who was a cleaner at Prof Benneh’s East Legon residence reportedly passed away at the Police Hospital.

The police said he had been sick for a while and his sickness took a turn for the worst last Saturday. He was then rushed to the Police Hospital where he was admitted to the intensive care unit but he died on the very same day.

He was 26 years old and it is currently unclear the effect his passing will have on the further investigation into the murder of the professor.
