Nigerians, for about a week now, have been protesting and demanding their government to ban the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a unit of the Nigerian Police Force.
The protests started after SARS were accused of harassing, abusing and killing citizens.
International celebrities like Kanye West, Diddy, Drake, Big Sean, Trey Songz, John Boyega and Estelle have added also demanded SARS to be banned in Nigeria.
The protests forced the Inspector-General of the Nigeria Police Force to dissolve SARS across the country.
Two days after dissolving SARS, the Nigeria Police Force announced a new unit named SWAT to replace SARS.
However, Nigerians are not convinced with this new initiative and have started new protests calling for SWAT to be scrapped as well.
