Ghanaian award-winning rapper, Sarkodie, has finally made a somewhat public statement in support of the End SARS campaign.
Since the issue started trending on Twitter, a number of Ghanaian celebrities have used their social media platforms to support the protest.
Among them are Shatta Wale, Jackie Appiah, Lydia Forson, Stonebwoy and others.
However, Sarkodie had remained largely silent on the matter and his silence had been noticed.
Until yesterday, Sarkodie had only been posting about his Sarkcess Writing camp which he is hosting for his upcoming project.
That changed yesterday though when he quote tweeted a video of someone being beaten by people believed to be SARS agents.
“Sorry my brother … We stand with you… it’s insane and inhumane what’s going on out there,” he said and ended the tweet with the Nigerian flag.
Though he didn’t add any of the many End SARS hashtags, this is considered his first public support of protest.
