Marcus Rashford To Receive MBE For Services To Vulnerable Children During Covid-19

Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford is set to be honoured by the Queen with an MBE for his campaign to help vulnerable children during the coronavirus pandemic.

Rashford campaigned for the government to allow about 1.3 million children to claim free school meal vouchers in England’s summer holidays during the coronavirus pandemic.

The 22-year-old stated that he is “incredibly honoured and humbled” to recieve and MBE at a young age.

“This is a very special moment for myself and my family, but particularly my mum who is the real deserving recipient of the honour”.

“The fight to protect our most vulnerable children is far from over,” he said.

Rashford also told BBC Breakfast in an interview that he wants to speak directly with the Prime Minister to convince him to further extend the program for school children.
