In light of this, Compare.Bet carried out a study to find out the most abused and trolled players in the Premier League on Twitter.
The study was based on negative tweets that were aimed at each player between August 6, 2020 and September 15, 2020.
Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford topped the list as Harry Kane, Mesut Ozil and Thiago Silva also made the list.
The list consists of 2 Manchester United players, 2 Manchester City players, 2 Tottenham players, 2 Arsenal players, 1 Liverpool player and 1 Chelsea player.
Here are the top 10 most trolled players in the Premier League on Twitter:
1. Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)
Percentage of negative tweets: 28.5%

2. Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)
Percentage of negative tweets: 24.7%

3. Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City)
Percentage of negative tweets: 22%

4. Harry Kane (Tottenham)
Percentage of negative tweets: 21.4%

5. Dele Alli (Tottenham)
Percentage of negative tweets: 20.9%

6. Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)
Percentage of negative tweets: 18.9%

7. David Luiz (Arsenal)
Percentage of negative tweets: 18.5%

8. Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
Percentage of negative tweets: 16%

9. Thiago Silva (Chelsea)
Percentage of negative tweets: 15.8%

10. David de Gea (Man United)
Percentage of negative tweets: 15.2%
