As if 2020 hasn’t given us enough already, now the Egyptain authorities might have just gone ahead to unleash a possible mummy curse on all of us.
Over the weekend, archaeologists in Egypt announced the discovery of 59 well-preserved and sealed wooden coffins that were buried more than 2,500 years ago.
They opened one of the ornately decorated sarcophagi and revealed mummified remains wrapped in burial cloth that bore hieroglyphic inscriptions in bright colours.
The coffins, sealed more than 2,500 years ago, dating back to the Late Period of ancient Egypt, from about the sixth or seventh century BC.
“I have witnessed the opening of one of the coffins … the mummy seems as if it was mummified yesterday,” the Egyptian Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled al-Ananial-Anani is quoted to have said.
However, Twitter users are not having any of it.
This is us going to look for cave to hid inside for the mummy curse to pass.
