1,045 Out Of 2,701 Law Students Passed The 2020 Entrance Exam

For a couple of years now, the release of the Ghana School of Law entrance exam results had always been controversial.

That’s because a lot more students fail the exam then they pass to gain entrance to the Ghana School of Law.

Only law students who study at the Ghana School of Law located at Makola have the license to practice law in the country

As a result, it is one of the sort after admissions to secure.

Last September only 128 of 1,820 passed the exam.

The agitated law students took to the streets to demonstrate.

This led to calls for reforms in legal education in the country.

A lot more students passed the exam this year with 1,045 students out of the 2,701 students who sat for the exam passing the exam.

Legal education has become a controversial topic in the country to the extent that it featured prominently in the 2020 election manifestos of both the NDC and the NPP.

While former President John Mahama is promising to allow other law faculties to provide the professional legal education equivalent to what is offered at the Ghana School of Law, President Akufo Addo is promising to expand the infrastructure of the Ghana School of Law to enable them enroll more students.
