The Inktober Challenge is an art challenge that takes place over the length of the month of October. As the name suggests, you have to put some ink on paper. The challenge created by Jake Parker in 2009 was intended to help improve inking skills and develop positive drawing habits.
Inktober has since then grown into a global sensation with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year.
How It Works
- Make a drawing in ink (you can go with pencil first)
- Post it
- Use the hashtags #inktober and #inktober2020
- Repeat everyday for the rest of the month
The point of the challenge is build positive habits. As such, consistency is the most important aspect of the challenge. If you’re not too confident, you don’t necessarily have to share your drawings online. But show them to someone!
Everyday of the challenge comes with a prompt as seen above. Just find your take on the prompt, and make some art.
