
Doc Rivers has parted ways with the Los Angeles Clippers after seven years.
Rivers, who recently led the team to the NBA Western Conference semi-finals, has decided to leave his position as coach of the Clippers.
This decision by Rivers comes after the Clippers blew a 3-1 lead a against the Denver Nuggets, losing the series 4-3.
Doc Rivers took to Twitter to announce his departure from the LA Clippers.
He indicated how grateful he was to Clipper nation for “allowing me to be your coach and for all your support in helping make this a winning franchise.”
“When I took this job, my goals were to make this a winning basketball programme, a free agent destination, and bring a championship to this organisation,” he added.
“While I was able to accomplish most of my goals, I won’t be able to see them all through.”
“Though it was a disappointing ending to our season, you are right there and I know what this team is capable of accomplishing with your support.”
