Dr Selorm Avemugah: KNUST Alumnus Is Helping Australia Discover A COVID-19 Vaccine

Dr Selorm Avumegah

We are living through a pandemic right now.

Though it seems we have largely gone back to the status quo, the virus is still here and we have to deal with it.

One way of doing so, is finding a vaccine which will prevent people from getting infected by the virus.

This has brought in a global race for a vaccine – not that we’re complaining.

Among one of the countries working on a COVID-19 vaccine is Australia and they are getting help from a Ghanaian scientist.

Dr Selorm Avemugah, is also a naturalized Australian citizen, is working with his team from The University of Queensland in Australia to find a vaccine that works.

Dr Selorm holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He got his Doctorate from Deakin University in Melbourne.

As revealed by Gregory Andrews, the Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, Dr Selorm is now working in Brisbane to save human lives and find a solution to the COVID pandemic!

If Dr Selorm and his Australian team are able to find a vaccine, Australia has promised to share it with the world.
