Daniel Amartey has received a lot of praise for his performance for Leicester City in their win over Manchester City.
That was Amartey’s first Premier League game in two years. He got injured in a game against West Ham in a Premier League game in October 2018. He has, since then, not featured for the Foxes in the Premier League until Sunday’s game against City.
He was very instrumental in defense for Leicester City as they beat Manchester City 5-2 at the Etihad.
Amartey made 38 touches, 6 clearances, 2 tackles, delivered 3 long balls and won 4 aerial duels.
His performance was praised by many people including BBC Sports journalist John Bennett.
His Black Stars teammate, Asamoah Gyan also applauded him for being patient and showing character and a positive attitude as he returned to the game after his injury.
Black Stars head coach CK Akonnor also congratulated Amartey on his “massive comeback”.
Ghanaians were also happy to see Amartey back with an amazing performance against the second best team in the Premier League last season.
Leicester City fans were also happy to see Amartey play, and they are pleading with the club to keep him.
In response to all the praise he got after the game, Amartey tweeted: “Very grateful. Thanks for all the support and messages… That felt really good”
