Ghanaians Express Worry Over Actions Of Western Togoland Group

Ghanaians on social media are unhappy with the actions of members of a secessionist group, popularly known as Western Togoland group.

Reports coming in this morning [Friday, September 25, 2020] suggests that the group have blocked major entry routes into the Volta Region.

Most passengers travelling to areas in the Volta Region including Tefle, Tsopoli and Juapong have all been left stranded as a result of the development, Citi News reports.

There are also reports of attacks on a number of police stations in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region.

In light of this, the Ghana Police Service has advised commuters to and from Accra – Ho – Aveyime – Adidome- Mepe – Akuse – Aflao, to exercise caution when travelling.

In the video below, travellers are unable to continue their journey due the road blockade by the group.

This development has got a lot of Ghanaians worried as some took to social media to share their opinions of the issue.

They indicated that the group and its actions have been tolerated for too long. They are, however, calling on the government to take immediate actions to prevent a national crisis in the future.
