The Ghana Police Service has advised persons travelling from Accra to Ho, Aveyime, Adidome, Mepe, Akuse, Sogakope, and Aflao to be cautious on such roads.
This warning from the Police comes after major routes into the Volta Region were reportedly blocked by members of secessionist group, Homeland Study Foundation, also known as Western Togoland group.
Most passengers travelling to areas in the Volta Region including Tefle, Tsopoli and Juapong have all been left stranded as a result of the development.
There are also reports of attacks on a number of Police Stations in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region.
The Ghana Police Service, in a tweet, stated: “Good morning Ghana, commuters to and from Accra – Ho – Aveyime – Adidome- Mepe – Akuse – Aflao are likely to experience traffic due to security operations within those areas.”
“Anybody travelling on any of those roads should exercise caution,” the Ghana Police Service added.
