Sports Ministry Commiserates With Families Of Footballers Who Died In Accident At Offinso

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has commiserated with the management, playing body and families of the six juvenile footballers who died in an accident at Offinso on September 19, 2020.

“The Ministry on behalf of the Hon Minister, Isaac Kwame Asiamah expresses its condolences to the bereaved families and the entire football fraternity,” a statement signed by the Communications Directorate of the Ministry read.

Reports indicate that the team was returning from Afrancho to Offinso after undergoing colts division registration when the accident occurred.

The injured members of the team are currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after being transferred from St. Patrick Hospital at Offinso.

The Ministry, in the statement, also assured that appropriate measures will be taken to avert future occurrences.
