Former President John Dramani’s Sharaf Mahama shares his birthday with Ghana’s former President Kwame Nkrumah.
However, while Kwame Nkrumah would have been 111 years old today, Sharaf is turning 25.
Sharaf is a football lover who briefly had a professional playing contract from Belgian top-flight side KV Mechelen back in 2016.
Sharaf first publically displayed his football skills when he featured in ex Ghana captain Stephen Appiah’s testimonial match held back in June, 2015.
Even when Sharaf was studying in Dubai, his love for football did not diminish. He was known to frequent Asamoah Gyan’s matches when the former Black Stars captain played for Al Ain in the UAE top-flight league.
Back in February this year, GPL club WAFA, however all football related activities were suspended due the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now that football training, GPL and Division One League is set to return, it is unclear if Sharaf will return to WAFA for his training.
Meanwhile, his father sent him a birthday wish via Instagram.
“Hi Sharaf! Happy birthday son!,” he posted.
