5 Remedies To Help With Snoring

If you’ve ever slept in the same room with someone who snores really loudly, you know how annoying it is. They probably cannot help it and when you let them change positions, they’re quiet for a few minutes and then it sounds like there’s a generator in your room all over again.

If you snore regularly, it’s not something to just ignore even if it’s not bothering you too much. In fact, snoring may be a sign of a serious health condition, including: obstructive sleep apnea (blocked airways), obesity, an issue with the structure of your mouth, nose, or throat and sleep deprivation. In other cases, snoring may be caused simply by sleeping on your back or drinking alcohol too close to bedtime.

1. Change your sleeping position

I know a number of you know this one and you even do it. This sometimes works but if it doesn’t, there are other points to check out.

Lying on your back makes the base of your tongue and soft palate collapse to the back wall of your throat, causing a vibrating sound during sleep. Sleeping on your side may help prevent this. (Source: webmd.com)
