A one-week memorial service was held on September 17, in honour of Barbara Tommey, who was shot to death by her husband Sylvester Ofori on September 8, 2020.
Sylvester is reported to have followed Barbara to her place of work – Navy Federal Credit Union branch in Orlando – and shot her in front of the building.
Sylvester was later identified, arrested and charged with first degree murder with a firearm.
Barbara’s memorial service was held on the premises of her work place, where she was shot.
The ceremony was attended by her family and friends, and a video which has emerged online shows a mood of sadness and grief as the attendees paid their last respect.
As part of the ceremony, some of the attendees took turns to lay wreaths at the spot of her murder.
