Arsenal’s supposed interest in Thomas Partey seems to be just rumours and speculations, as the London club is yet to trigger the release clause of the midfielder.
Atletico Madrid have valued the 27-year-old at €50 million, but reports indicate that Arsenal is not ready to pay the whole release clause.
Reports in July suggested that Arsenal offered €25 million, plus two of their players for Partey. This offer from Arsenal was reportedly rejected by Atletico, who have clearly indicated that they are not going to sell Partey for less than €50 million.
The unprogressive nature of the transfer deal is frustrating a lot of Arsenal fans – including Nigerian musician Patoranking – who would love to see Partey play for their club.
Patoranking, in a Twitter post, pleaded with Thomas Partey to join Arsenal.
“Thomas Partey please come to Arsenal… please my Ghana brother,” he wrote.
Patoranking also promised a two-hour virtual concert if Partey signs for Arsenal.
Partey’s contract at Atletico Madrid expires in 2023.
He scored 3 goals in 35 appearances for Atletico Madrid in the 2019/20 La Liga season.
Partey joined Atletico Madrid back in 2015, and was instrumental as the Madrid side won the UEFA Europa League back in 2018.
