Three-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka has withdrawn from the 2020 French Open, which is scheduled to start on September 27, 2020.

Osaka won her second US Open title after beating Victoria Azarenka on September 12, in New York.

The 22-year-old said in a statement that she won’t be able to play at the French Open because of her hamstring.

“I won’t be able to play at the French Open.”

“My hamstring is still sore so I won’t have enough time to prepare for the clay – these two tournaments came too close to each other for me this time,” she said.
