The African Giant is now “Twice As Tall

Exactly a month ago Burna Boy released his much anticipated “Twice As Tall” album which got the whole world listening.

After the release of the album, “Twice As Tall” was at number 1 on Billboard World Albums chart.

In “Twice As Tall” Burna Boy featured Senegal’s Youssou N’dour, Kenyan band Sauti Sol, Naughty by Nature, Chris Martin of Coldplay and Stormzy also make appearances, along with LeriQ, Telz, P2J, Rexxie, Timbaland, Mike Dean, Anderson .Paak and Mario Winans.

In the First Month Of Burna Boy‘s “Twice As Tall”, the album has been accumulated over 175 Million streams from all major streaming platforms. On Youtube “Twice As Tall” has over 25 Million views, doubling the streams of Youtube, Audiomack has over 50.2 Millions streams. On Spotify, “Twice As Tall has over 34 Million streams with Apple Music(Africa) accumulating 18.4 Million streams and Apple Music(World) hitting over 31 Million streams. With Boomplay Burna Boy hit 10.5 Million streams.

Dominating the charts, Burna Boy’s “Twice As Tall” peaked at Number 1 in 59 countries on Apple Music. “Twice As Tall” also peaked at Number 1 on the UK iTunes & Apple Music Charts.

Burna Boy’s “Twice As Tall” is a 15-track record clocking in at just over 50 minutes, executive produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs, Bosede Ogulu, and Burna Boy himself. What makes this record special is that Burna Boy used his time during the COVID-19 pandemic to record the Album, meaning most of the recording was done in Lagos.

According to Hypebeast in an interview with Burna Boy, he said, Twice As Tall touches on the realities of Burna Boy’s life and tackles miseducation, global systemic racism, police brutality, corruption and social injustice. However, there are also reflections on the good times of his life as he offers messages of hope and home, delivering a cohesive album that sums up how he got to this high point in life. “Twice As Tall is the album about a period of time in my life. It’s the album about the struggle for freedom. It’s the album about life in general, real life, good times, bad times, happy times, sad times, great times.”
