Ghanaians React To Exim Bank’s Alleged GHC2M Payment To Shatta Wale & Others

Ghanaians on social media have reacted to the issue regarding an alleged payment of GHC2 million that was made to Shatta Wale and other brand ambassadors by the Ghana Exim Bank.

The issue came up during a Public Account Committee (PAC) sitting, when Ras Mubarak, a member of the committee raised concerns over the said amount.

The concerns of the MP comes after media reports suggested that the bank paid some huge sums of monies to Shatta Wale and other brand ambassadors.

Kwame Adu-Darkwa, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the bank, in response to the issue stated that the bank did not deal directly with the artiste and only contracted a media consultancy firm to help them in promoting its products.

James Klutse Avedzi, the Chairman of PAC, also stated that the committee will invite officials from the bank to provide details of the said payments to Shatta Wale and other brand ambassadors.

This allegation generated some reactions on social media as Ghanaians shared their views on the alleged amount that was paid to the brand ambassadors.
