The 2020/21 Premier League will commence this Saturday, September 12, 2020.
Premier League Champions Liverpool and Championship winners Leeds United will face off in the standout opening weekend game of the season.
This Premier League season will be an interesting one, as fans will be looking forward to see how well their clubs will perform, with the signings that they made.
Ahead of the start of the 2020/21 Premier League season, this is how I think the Premier League table will look like when the season ends.
Manchester City – winners
Knowing who Pep Guardiola is as a coach, he will definitely do whatever it takes to win the 2020/21 Premier League season, after losing it to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool who were absolutely outstanding last season.
Pep has quickly made moves to fix the team’s defence, which was very poor last season. He has acquired Nathan Ake from Bournemouth, and the club has also been linked with Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, as Pep seeks to bolster the defence for the upcoming season.
They have also signed Ferran Torres from Valencia.
City already have very good players in the midfield and attacking positions, and if Kevin De Bryune and Sergio Kun Aguero are fit throughout out the season, Manchester City are definitely winning beating Liverpool for the Premier League title.
Liverpool – 2nd
Liverpool won the Premier League last season, after 30 years, in stellar style. However, it will be interesting to see how well they will perform in the upcoming season.
Liverpool has not yet made a big name signing, but reports indicate that they are close to completing a deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara. Kostas Tsimikas is the only signing the Reds have made in the summer transfer window.
However, Liverpool still have some of the best players in the league who are still hungry and determined to win more titles, but it might be difficult for them to retain the league title.
Chelsea – 3rd
Chelsea indicated their Premier League title-winning ambitions with the signings that they have made ahead of the new season.
The Blues acquired two of Bundesliga’s top talents in Timo Werner and Kai Havertz from RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen respectively.
They also aquired Hakim Ziyech from Ajax.
In resolving their defensive issues, Chelsea acquired Ben Chilwell from Leicester City and Thiago Silva on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.
The team looks improved with the new signings, but winning the Premier League title in the upcoming season might not happen for Chelsea.
Manchester United – 4th
Manchester United have not been very active in the transfer market as we expected them to, as they have only signed Donny van de Beek from Ajax so far.
Recent reports suggest that United have made a progress in signing of Borussia Dortmund attacker Jandon Sancho. United are also reported to be in the market for a right-back.
Manchester United will be very deadly in attack if they are able to sign Sancho before the transfer window closes, but that will not be enough to succeed Liverpool as Premier League champions.
5th, 6th and 7th
Arsenal – 5th
Mikel Arteta had an amazing first season as a manager at Arsenal. He got his players to believe in themselves as he led them to win the FA Cup and FA Community Shield, beating Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool in the process.
Arteta, ahead of the upcoming season has made some great additions to his squad. Willian joined the Gunners from Chelsea on a free transfer and Gabriel Magalhaes joined from Lille.
Arsenal are also reported to be still interested in Atletico midfielder Thomas Partey, and they have also been linked with Lyon’s Houssem Aouar.
With Arsenal close to completing the extension of Aubameyang’s contract, they will definitely improve on their performance from the end of last season.
Everton – 6th
Carlo Ancelotti is a top manager and he would love to achieve great things at Everton.
Ahead of the new season, Ancelotti has made some good sigings as he aims to improve his midfield and attack.
He has signed James Rodriguez from Real Madrid, Abdoulaye Doucoure from Watford and Allan from Napoli.
With these signings, in addition to the players they have already, Everton could easily make the 6th spot on the league to gain Europa League qualification.
Tottenham Hotspur – 7th
Jose Mourinho has improved his squad with some very important signings which are meant for fix problems in the team.
He signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton and Matt Doherty from Wolves.
He still has players like Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli who are very talented.
But it will be very difficult for him to compete with Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United for the top four.
8th – 17th
Wolverhampton Wanderers – 8th
Leicester City – 9th
Leeds United – 10th
Sheffield United – 11th
Southampton – 12th
West Ham United – 13th
Brighton – 14th
Burnley – 15th
Crystal Palace – 16th
Newcastle United – 17th
Aston Villa – 18th
West Brom – 19th
Fulham – 20th
Well, this is my prediction for the 2020/21 Premier League season.
