Did NPP Sabotage NDC’s 2020 Manifesto Launch With Dumsor?

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) launched their manifesto for the December 2020 elections at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on September 7, 2020.

During the launch of the NDC’s 2020 manifesto, some parts of Accra experienced power outages, popularly known as ‘Dumsor.’

Ghanaians took to social media to indicate that their lights were off.

This caused people to allege that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) were trying to sabotage the NDC’s manifesto launch.

After getting reports of power outages in some parts of Accra, Alhassan Suhuyini, NDC MP for Tamale North, who was the MC for the manifesto launch stated: “I am getting a lot of reports of ‘Dumsor’ in some parts of the country. We hope this is not an attempt to deny the good people of Ghana from listening to the launch of the people’s manifesto.”
