The COVID-19 pandemic has brought more emphasis on the importance of virtual education.

However, with many technological challenges, a significant number of students even at the tertiary level were not able to participate in virtual lectures.

This was because some of the students do not have access to laptops or other devices that would allow them to join the online classes.

As a result, former President John Mahama has promised to give free laptops to all university students.

Beyond that, his government, if he wins the 2020 elections will also provide free WiFi zones in public and private universities.
