Sarkodie really gave Kwesi Arthur a run for his money in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Rapper of the Year category.
It was a close call but at the end of the day it was the younger rapper who took the award home.
Newly released data from KPMG, the accounting firm that audited the votes, indicates that Kwesi Arthur beat Sarkodie with only 3% of the votes.
Kwesi Arthur secured 30% of the votes and Sarkodie secured 27% of the votes.
Eno Barony gave a strong challenge too and with the stellar performance she pulled off last Friday night of the VGMA, she did mean business.
She was in third place with 18% of the votes ahead of Strongman, Teephlow, Medikal and EL who secured 11%, 6%, 5% and 4% of the votes, respectively.
The Rapper of the Year category had three main voting blocks with the VGMA Board having 30% of the votes, VGMA Academy having 30% of the votes and the general public having 40% of the vote.
