Government Postpones Academic Year For Most Ghanaian Students

President Akufo Addo has announced the postponement of the academic year for most Ghanaian students.

In his 16th COVID-19 address, the President said a decision has been reached to postpone the academic year for first year Senior High School students and all other schoolchildren below the level of second year Junior High School.

This means, the academic year for first-year Junior High School pupils, primary school pupils, and nursery and kindergarten schoolchildren have been postponed.

Their postponed academic year will be expected to resume in January 2021.

This comes while second year junior and senior high school students have been allowed to return to the classroom on October 5 to prepare for their end of term exams.
